My Scripture Cards - Part One

Over the years, I've mentioned my "scripture cards" many times and I get emails asking what they are or where they can be bought. These cards, which began on index cards and now include scraps of paper, envelopes and whatever else is at hand, are Scriptures that I knew in my spirit that I should write down and meditate on.

I have done that in various ways over the years. I've used them to memorize verses and for over a year now I've been meditating on them as I use my rebounder. It's much more fulfilling and rewarding than watching TV while you exercise. Building up your faith is great exercise for the body, soul and spirit.

Numerous people have asked me if I would post them on the website and last year I committed to do so as a winter project. Since I've been doing this since the late 80's there's a lot to type in so I will combine many of them in segments and will make several posts as I get them keyed in. If you'd like to print them, save paper by choosing the ones that are meaningful to you and then copy and pasting them into a document to print. You can then keep it as a sheet or cut them into "cards" to use in any way you desire.

My Scripture Cards - Part One

I believe free will is the delight of sinners, but that God's will is the glory of saints. There is nothing I desire more to get rid of than my own will, and to be absorbed into the will of Him who is most good, most true, most wise, most mighty, seems to me to be heaven. Let others choose the dignity of independence, I crave the glory of being wholly dead in Christ and only alive in Him. (Charles Spurgeon)

I call heaven and earth to witness against you today that I have set before you life and death, blessings and curses. CHOOSE life so that you and your descendants may live, loving the Lord your God, obeying his voice and holding fast to Him, for He is your life and length of days, that you may dwell in the land that the Lord swore to your fathers. (Deuteronomy 39:19-20)

You sent Your Word and healed me and delivered me from my destruction. (Psalm 107:20)
Oh Lord, my God, I cried unto Thee and Thou has healed me. (Psalm 30:2)
I am healed. (I Peter 2:24)

I will not fight this spiritual battle on my own strength. I submit myself to God and resist the devil and he will flee from me. (James 4:7) I surrender to and put my trust in my awesome God. (Donna)

They overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony; they did not love their lives so much as to shrink from death. (Revelation 12:11) Why do I hurt and why am I offended if I truly love others. I love not my own life unto death, Lord. I surrender to Your love. (Don Mohler)

Do not be wise in your own eyes; fear the Lord and depart from evil. It will be health to your flesh and strength to your bones. (Proverbs 3:7-8) I am strengthened with might by Your Spirit. (Ephesians 3:16) My Lord knows the way through the wilderness. All I have to do is follow. (Unknown)

For the Lord God is a sun and shield; He bestows favor and honor. No good things does He withhold from those who walk uprightly. (Psalm 84:11) Grace is the "divine empowering" that creates the desire and the ability to obey. I confirm Your total control over my life and circumstances for Your purposes. I acknowledge my need and helplessness and I wait for Your impartation of Your enabling strength (grace). I am willing and desire to be obedient. (Wade Taylor)

John 14 - If you love Me, you will keep My commandments. (verse 15) I am in My Father and you in Me and I in you. They who have My commandments and keep them are those who love Me, and those who love Me will be loved by my Father, and I will love them and reveal Myself to them. (verse 20b-21) Peace I leave with you; My peace I give to you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not let them be afraid. (verse 27)

I put away all bitterness and wrath and anger and wrangling and slander, together with all malice, and I am kind to others, tender-hearted, forgiving others, as God in Christ has forgiven me. (Ephesians 4:31-32) I let no evil talk come out of my mouth, but only what is useful for building up, as there is need, so that my words may give grace to those who hear. (Ephesians 4:29) I am purposed that my mouth shall not transgress. (Psalm 17:3c)

Who Am I? - Ephesians 1-4
I am chosen by You, my Father.
I am holy and without blame.
I am Your child according to the good pleasure of Your will.
I am seated in heavenly places in Christ Jesus.
I am Your workmanship.
I am rooted and grounded in love.
I am renewed in the spirit of my mind.

Holy, holy, holy! Lord God Almighty, which was and is and is to come. Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honor and power: for Thou has created all things, and for Thy pleasure they are and were created. (Revelation 4:8, 11) That means You created me on purpose, Lord. You designed and created me for Your pleasure. The LORD My God is with me, He is mighty to save. He takes great delight in me, He quiets me with His love, and rejoices over me with singing. (Zephaniah 3:17) I know and believe the love that God has for us. (I John 4:15)

Amen, blessing and glory and wisdom and thanksgiving and honor and power and might be unto our god forever and ever. Amen. (Revelation 7:12) Faith is deliberate confidence in the character of God whose ways you may not understand at the time. (Oswald Chambers)

Take delight in God and He will give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to the Lord; trust in Him, and He will act. (Psalm 37:4-5) In repentance and rest if your salvation, in quietness and trust is your strength. (Isaiah 30:15)

I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your soul. (Matthew 11:28-29)

You are Jehovah-Jireh, the One who meets my need. You are Jehovah-Shammah, the Lord who is present. You are Jehovah-El Shaddai, the Lord who is more than enough. You are Jehovah-Rophe, my healer and you are Jehovah-Nissi, our provider. More information on the names of God.

:~) I've done the very same thing for years. And recently found index cards from a year in the mid 90's that I have sitting right beside me as we speak. I've been reviewing them slowly.

Thanks...as always.

How cool! They are a real treasure. I was thinking of printing these myself now that I have them keyed in ... and then I thought about how some of the cards are from back in the late 80's and a few that a friend gave me who is now in Heaven. But the ones that are more recent on envelopes and pieces of paper may be replaced with a nice typed copy that I can cut into pieces.

Noticed on your blog profile the name of Loren Cunningham. We're fans of YWAM also :-) I love the picture of you in your garden. Bet you're not there right now! :-)

They are a treasure...and a great picture of our journey...our story. Haha, that's exactly like me as well with the pieces here there and everywhere....which, in the past, I've then typed up for each year individually. I say in the past because I've not been as faithful with that in the last couple of years. But great to look back on.

Loren Cunningham has been a real inspiration to me, especially in 2 of his writings: "Daring to Live on the Edge" and "Why Not Women"?

Joy Dawson, who is a YWAMer as well greatly encouraged me with her book "Some of the Ways of God in Healing."

Aside from the books, there are many people in my life who have been or are involved with YWAM. Good to hear that you are a fan. :)

I have to confess that that is not my garden in the photo that you speak of. That is at a local Lavender farm where I went to cut some for myself. Deep in the mountains of BC...right at the border between Canada and the US.

We had a client when we had a shop whose son was a YWAM missionary and when he was home he'd come in since we supported him. Our son did the SOE and DTS schools when he was 18 and we have been involved with his team leader's mission in Houston with the street people - amazing giftings he and his wife has ... and their 2 children are now grown and ministering also. It's amazing the realm that YWAM/Mercy Works, etc. encompasses from one man's dream. God is incredible! One willing person. We have a lavender farm about an hour from us here.
