Easter Is A Time To Celebrate Jesus in Us

When I think of Easter immediately my thoughts go to Jesus and His death, burial and resurrection. Easter is all about Jesus and it is a time to celebrate Jesus! We serve a God of love who came to earth as a man in a physical body to pay a terrible price to restore man back into relationship with himself. This act of love reveals His true nature of who He really is and who He is towards us His creation.

Romans 5:12 “Therefore, just as through one man sin entered the world, and death through sin, and thus death spread to all men, because all sinned.”

Adam’s sin which spread to all men separated man from a Holy God of love.

Romans 5:17-19 “For if by the one man's offense death reigned through the one, much more those who receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness will reign in life through the One, Jesus Christ.) Therefore, as through one man's offense judgment came to all men, resulting in condemnation, even so through one Man's righteous act the free gift came to all men, resulting in justification of life. For as by one man's disobedience many were made sinners, so also by one Man's obedience many will be made righteous.”

Because of Jesus we have received the abundance of grace and righteousness as a gift being made righteous. An abundant supply of grace means nothing is lacking and you do not run out when you have an abundant supply and righteousness. It was given to us as a gift. If it was not a gift and if it was up to us to deserve it we would all be in trouble.

Jesus accomplished for us what we could not accomplish for ourselves. Gratitude should be an automatic response from our hearts when we think of Jesus if we fully understand what He has accomplished for us through His death, burial and resurrection. In Christ we have been raised to newness of life and are a new creation in Christ.

If we are not reigning in life through Jesus Christ then it is possible that we do not fully understand all that was accomplished for us by Jesus. The danger is that we might be living life with a dependency on ourselves like unbelievers do. The life of Christ now dwells on the inside of us and our bodies are the temple of the Holy Spirit. Our salvation experience through a work of the Holy Spirit began as Romans 10:9-10 says "by believing in the heart on the Lord Jesus Christ." T

Through believing we connect to the life of Christ on the inside of us as we yield to the Holy Spirit instead of determining what truth is in our heart through the communication that comes through our five senses. This is choosing Jesus over ourselves as we see ourselves in Christ instead of determining what truth is in this life from self from our own perspective.

An example would be a man who came to one of my meetings with a couple of physical problems that would not go away no matter how much he prayed or received prayer from others. He had received healing before but these problems seemed like they had power over him as they would not go away and only got worse. He had heard about an anointed healing minister that had gotten wonderful results.

He came believing that he could get healed through me praying for him. When he shared this with me I did not pray for him right away because he was not prepared to receive from the Lord but was determining a way of receiving based on what he believed about the problem from what the problem was communicating to him. He believed that this problem had power over him. That was a lie! There is no problem greater than the Blood of Jesus!

I had him sit in the front and do two things to prepare his heart to receive based on Jesus instead of a person with a problem. If you are going to receive from God then receiving is spiritual as God is in spiritual form in the spiritual realm and we are in a physical body in this natural realm. The first thing I had him do was to make fun of the physical problems. In other words, I had him laugh at them, ridicule them, deride them, and mock them and in no way show them respect by believing what they are communicating to you.

The second thing I told him to do was within his heart put the Blood of Jesus at a place of prominence. In other words, exalt His Blood in what has been accomplished and what His Blood still does. As a minister I am not talking to a young Christian. This man fully understands the death, burial and resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ. When I used the terminology the “Blood of Jesus” he completely understood what I was saying. In fact many more scriptures probably opened up unto him.

His response probably was “I know this” as he was shocked back into reality as we reign in life through the One, Jesus Christ, instead of trying to deal with life’s challenging problems like an unbeliever would where all they have is just themselves.

For this man to sit down and do this required humility of heart which revealed the true character of the person because when I returned to him to release the life of Christ into his body he now was ready to receive based on what Jesus had accomplished at the cross instead of a person who had a problem that needed to go.

When I prayed, the problem immediately began to go. He was healed which is why the problem was leaving. Reigning in life through the One, Jesus Christ, becomes very practical when you identify with Jesus instead of life’s problems.
