It's not about us, it is about Jesus, but it is for us!
As Christians when we make receiving from God about us then we are seeing ourselves with a problem needing to be free of it. If this is your way of trying to receive healing from God where you really need Him to heal you because of how bad the problem is, then you are going to experience inconsistency in receiving. In fact you are going to make receiving more difficult than it has to be.
Receiving healing, in a very practical way, is about identifying with the spiritual promise found in Christ instead of identifying with the physical problem in our body in this natural realm we live everyday life in. We must establish within the beliefs of our heart an identity of freedom where we see ourselves free of the problem not seeing ourselves in a position of trying to get free of a problem. This will help to open up our heart to the Holy Spirit where we are ready to receive the manifestation of the healing into the natural realm in which we live.
If we will accomplish this first where we bring our heart to a place of receiving and then speak with authority at the problem to release the life of Christ that dwells within us, then we will bring receiving the manifestation of healing into the now where we are not waiting for the problem to leave. Now our heart is set in how we are believing and the way we relate to the problem has changed. We now identify with the problem belonging to Jesus even though it may be in our physical body.
Matthew 8:17 NKJV “that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Isaiah the prophet, saying: He Himself took our infirmities And bore our sicknesses."
We are not unbelievers and we do not have to relate to life the same way an unbeliever would in dealing with physical problems. If an unbeliever has a physical problem then they see themselves with a problem needing to be healed and in fact they do not believe that they are free of the problem until the problem is gone from their body. This makes sense as this is the way it works in the natural realm--when the problem is gone then you are healed. In the spiritual realm it is just the opposite as it is about Jesus Christ and what was accomplished at the Cross before you were born. This means we are healed and the physical problem can’t stay! The physical problem belongs to Jesus--it does not belong to us. Even if we are responsible for the problem being in our body it still belongs to Jesus as He is our life and our life in Christ is not our own.
Galatians 2:20 NKJV, “I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.”
We are not supposed to live for Jesus. As Col 3:4 says, “He is our life.” Our life is found in Him and when we identify with Christ in any area of life, the result is we are allowing Him to live His life through us instead of us trying to live for Him from our own strength or ability.
Matthew 28:18 NKJV “And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying,
'All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth.'
Matthew 10:7-8 “And as you go, preach, saying,
"The kingdom of heaven is at hand. Heal the sick …”
Speaking with the delegated authority given to us by Jesus Christ is scriptural. But if a Christian only focuses on constantly speaking with authority to the physical problem and ignores the unbelief within their heart, what they do not realize is that your heart must back up what your mouth is saying. You can speak all you want but if there is unbelief within your heart you will stop the life of Christ from being released out of your Spirit into your body. Operating in authority is not a formula! If all we do is constantly speak with authority to the problem we will wear ourselves out emotionally and end up confused wondering what is wrong. If you believe your physical problem just won’t go away and has power over you then you have unbelief in your heart!
1 Timothy 4:15-16 “Meditate on these things; give yourself entirely to them, that your progress may be evident to all. Take heed to yourself and to the doctrine. Continue in them, for in doing this you will save both yourself and those who hear you.”
When dealing with the issues of unbelief in our heart we need to speak more for the benefit of our heart and speak less to the problem. Our ears need to hear what our mouth is saying in speaking the truth of God’s Word. In this process we are establishing our heart to the place that our heart becomes fully persuaded in the freedom of the promise where our belief is we are free and this problem cannot stay. It is leaving right now because I am healed.
Romans 10:17 NKJV, “So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. “
In this process we have the help of the Holy Spirit who is our teacher who will enlighten the truth of God’s Word to us so that His Word will go beyond just something we choose to believe but will become understanding in our heart where suddenly we see how that truth is applied in everyday life. Then when you speak with authority there is understanding that the power of God is driving the physical problem right out of my body as the problem does not have the ability to stay. Now my heart is backing up what my mouth is saying as the problem belongs to Jesus and freedom belongs to me which should make our heart eternally grateful to Jesus as He paid a terrible price for our freedom.
