National Pollinator Week

Five years ago the U.S. Senate’s unanimous approval and designation of the final week in June as “National Pollinator Week” marked a necessary step toward addressing the urgent issue of declining pollinator populations.

National Pollinator Week takes place June 18 to 24, 2012. Let's focus on getting more butterflies, hummingbirds, bees and wasps into our backyard habitats.

To celebrate, National Wildlife Federation asked gardeners across the country who’ve created wildlife-friendly habitats to talk about some of their favorite native plants for attracting bees, butterflies, birds and other pollinating species. Here's the descriptions and images they shared.
