Chronic Renal Failure in Cats

Extremely common in older cats, CRF is a serious condition evidenced by gradual, irreversible deterioration of kidney function over a period of months or years.

The good news is that with careful management, CRF cats can live a fairly good quality of life for months or even years after diagnosis. Management and treatment may include diet, medication for associated conditions, and fluid management. The bad news is that more cats pass away from CRF than from any other condition.
