Importance of Cleansing

Millions of us suffer from disease, sickness and pain because we simply don't know this truth about our own health: our bodies are not properly eliminating poisons and environmental toxins.

The colon's job is to hold waste before it is evacuated from the body and to reabsorb water from the waste. Years of poor eating habits, low-fiber diets, sedentary living and other lifestyle choices can slow the digestive processes.

If waste sits in the colon too long, toxins build up there and are eventually absorbed back into the body. A toxic colon eventually leads to a toxic liver, which pollutes the tissues and the bloodstream, making a person very sick.

Learn more about your health through your stools.

Body tissues must be free of toxins that can get in the way of normal bodily functions. Like a precision-crafted machine, dirt-free internal workings are far more critical to health than cleanliness on the outside.

Dr. Alvin Segelman, Vice President of Nature's Sunshine Health Sciences, says, "I like to think of colon cleanses as whole-body cleanses, because cleansing the colon helps virtually every tissue and cell in the entire body."

Harsh, over-the-counter laxatives hardly constitute a cleansing program. A gentle, but thorough, natural approach is easier on the body and stimulates other body-cleansing mechanisms besides the bowels.

This approach should include balancing ingredients (to prevent unwanted side effects) and should replace minerals that may be removed during cleansing. Nature's Sunshine's Clean Start meets all of these requirements! It comes in Wild Berry or Apple Cinnamon flavor.

Each drink packet contains the following:

Psyllium hulls (Plantago ovata), a soothing, high-fiber herb, is used in weight loss and is especially beneficial for absorbing bowel toxins and normalizing cholesterol.

Bentonite, a natural, highly absorbent clay, is often used to improve colon conditions including impaction and parasites.

Aloe vera juice (Aloe barbadensis) acts as a general tonic to soothe and protect bowel tissue.

Chlorophyll (Sodium Copper Chlorophyllin) is a natural bowel "sweetener;" it helps prevent odor, increase blood oxygen and counteract bowel toxins.

Stevia (Stevia rebaudiana) is a nontoxic, non-fattening herb containing stevioside, a natural constituent that is 300 times sweeter than sugar (sucrose).

Each packet of capsules contains:

1 capsule Enviro-Detox™. This herbal combination cleanses the body of many common environmental pollutants we may unknowingly ingest. The formulation includes sarsaparilla, milk thistle, red clover, dandelion, yellow dock, burdock, marshmallow, fenugreek, ginger, echinacea, cascara sagrada, pepsin (a protein-digesting enzyme) and Lactobacillus sporogenes (helps keep putrefactive bacteria at bay).

2 capsules LBS II®. A combination of strong purgative herbs and protective, 'gentle and soothing herbs, LBS II helps enhance elimination, increase production of digestive enzymes and soothe the digestive tract. LBS II contains cascara sagrada, buckthorn, ginger, licorice, Oregon grape, red clover, dog grass, turkey rhubarb and capsicum.
