I read several devotion books during my morning time with the Lord. It always amazes me how He feeds me daily with His Word and with the content of the devotions. Sometimes, it's a tidbit that is good for the day and sometimes it's a plate full of goodness that I have to highlight and read again and again.
This segment is from The Word For You Today. It's one of those biggie meals that I will have to spread over a few days.
No one can prevent God from using you, blessing you and giving you success, except YOU. So keep your heart and attitude right! There's a reason for everything. There's also a season. Though you cannot understand it at the moment, stand on what God's promised you, recall His faithfulness and trust Him to work things out. He can make the wrong decisions of those around you work for your good. Instead of looking for someone to blame, start seeing the hand of God at work in your situation. Remember what the Bible says: "All that happens to us is working for our good if we love God and are fitting into His plans." Romans 8:28
What a comfort to recall His faithfulness and to know that He does love us even when it feels like He doesn't. Sometimes I want to be a child and whine, "you don't love me or you wouldn't allow this in my life." But as with our own children, there are times when what looks bad is so much good for the child (and us) to mature into who we were meant to be.
I don't want to not be all that I was designed to be, so I will look to Him knowing and reaffirming to myself that He knows best. All that Joseph went through was training for his position in the palace. All the rough spots and seasons in our lives are for our best and they will be much shorter if we yield our hearts to our Heavenly Father and keep our minds filled with right thinking.
Don't let the devil make you believe otherwise. Remember the story of what he did to Eve. We do not need to be deceived. We know the end of his story. He's totally a liar!
